Reed Noss to give invited talk at biodiversity symposium

Dr. Reed Noss, Provost’s Distinguished Research Professor in Biology, has been invited to speak on climate change and biodiversity in Florida at a symposium to be held at the Center for Biodiversity and the Department of Biology at East Carolina University. Dr. Noss will be speaking with Dr. Joshua Reece, formerly a postdoctoral researcher at UCF, and now an assistant professor of biology at Valdosta State University.

The symposium, entitled “Biodiversity Responses to Climate Change: Perspectives from the Southeastern U.S.” will take place on March 14 and 15, 2014, in Greenville, NC. The symposium’s goals are to advance our collective understanding of how biodiversity is responding to climate change in the southeastern US and more broadly, in order to provide a general framework that could guide researchers, managers and policy makers in other regions to enhance their understanding of how climate change may affect biodiversity in their regions. More information about the symposium can be found here.
